Arts Canterbury is committed to profiling art galleries and artists in Christchurch, New Zealand, and districts. It is an incorporated charitable organisation, governed by an elected executive committee whose membership is currently made up of artists, business and community representatives from Timaru, Selwyn, Hurunui, Ashburton, Banks Peninsula and Christchurch. Membership As from July 1, 2007, membership of Arts Canterbury is a requirement for all artists and galleries listing on our website or in the arts guide. Membership is also open to all who are interested in promoting and supporting the arts of our region, whether listed on this site or not. The keywords of membership are:

To join Arts Canterbury as a member, ask the Administrator to send you a membership form, and return with your subscription of $25 per individual or $40 per couple, organisation, or gallery (a couple is defined as two people residing at the same address). This has been followed by the printed Canterbury Regional Arts Guide which will be published every two years. www.artscanterbury.org.nz is a database of artists and galleries who have a relationship with Canterbury in New Zealand. The website has been designed to profile and foster the Arts in Canterbury. Visitors to the site can browse through a number of categories of artists and galleries, such as by – name, location, arts medium, artist classification (professional, established, emerging, etc.), or gallery classification (public, dealer, cafe, Maori or Pasifika, community, etc.).
