Jill Henriod
The artist was born in Christchurch (1941) and began her art studies at Canterbury University. In 1985 she completed an MFA (Printmaking) at American University, Washington DC. After living for many years overseas she now resides in Tai Tapu where she has her studio. An additional living space on the peninsula has given her inspiration for her latest series of paintings. Working between representation and abstraction she strives to capture the ever-changing light and patterns cast onto moving or still water. Working with acrylic paints in both impasto and transparent layers she aims to achieve a vibrancy which is characteristic of her work.
