Deb Williams is a Contemporary Artist working out of her large art studio on her lifestyle block in Clarkville, just north of Christchurch. She works in a variety of mediums- acrylic, oil and encaustic wax. Her acrylic paintings – landscapes, animals, still life – are big and bright, with bold brushstrokes. They are joyous and textured, expressive and emotive.
Her encaustic paintings are often the complete opposite- monochromatic and subtle. Deb is influenced in all of her art by her surroundings- Massive Canterbury skies, the Waimakiriri River, Pegasus Bay beaches, her animals and the huge mature trees on her land. Deb also teaches encaustic classes and runs school holiday art classes for children.
