Creative NZ is proposing a new line of funding to better support artists.
Creative New Zealand has announced a new-look Art Grants programme with staggered dates and 2 different funding levels: up to $10,000 to $75,000. This is a transitional phase. The closing dates for 2019 are 6th September and 4th October.
However, a new annual round is to be launched for 12 months of activity for 2020 as well. The amount is $150,000. That will be 3 grants for the year and ongoing.
The purpose of the new programme is to enable:
- More sustainable careers for individual artists and arts practitioners
- The development of arts practice
- Innovation in New Zealand arts
- Diverse communities to access and participate in high-quality arts experiences
We think some of our members may be interested in investigating this further.
If you are interested we can plan a get together with some food and wine to talk further. If you would like to join this group please let Wil know osclay.estate@xtra.co.nz, or Vivienne, admin@artscanterbury.org.nz , or Carol, camoffatt@gmail.com .
