About
I was born and raised in Darfield, and have spent all my working life living in Christchurch. I currently live in Yaldhurst which is the best of both, slightly country, near the city.
I have been drawn to artistic pursuits my whole life, drawing, photography, sewing, costume design and construction, ballet, other forms of dancing, and gardening.
Having taken art at High School and then dabbling in and out for many years with painting in watercolours, pastels, acrylic and designs for Theatre costumes as a job, I have finally settled on working with oils. Family and work left little time to pursue anything serious with my art, so in 2020 I decided to “give “myself the luxury of time to pursue things more seriously. I have taken classes with Sandie Brown, while currently studying with Kelli Folsom Art School.
My aim is to find the ‘light’, though at times it is very elusive.
I have always been inspired by the Impressionists and the more classical painters.
I hope you enjoy my work; it is a never-ending source of pleasure.
