About
Karin Werner has been known for her horse paintings, but her art also reflects her other interests. An outdoors person, she also enjoys painting en Plein Air.
She paints mainly realistically, but also produces more interpretive and abstracted work.
She uses oils, soft pastels, watercolours and graphite.
Karin also belongs to the Rangiora Art Society, Amberley Art Group, Ashburton Society of Arts and the Otago Art Society, exhibiting with them and around the South Island.
Recent Highlights:
2025 – Second Place at Otago Art Society’s Summer Exhibition with ‘Rain Coming, Gate Creek’.
2025 – People’s Choice Award at the Otago Art Society’s Autumn Exhibition for ‘Canal Sunset’.
2024 – Limited Edition prints of her oil painting ‘Britten P002’, being sold by the Britten Motorcycle Company.
2021 – Survus Award at Darfield Artweek for ‘Dawn Sentinels’
