Kay Duncan

My early experiences as an artist were in response to the urban environment of English city life. However, after emigrating to New Zealand in 1984, I became greatly inspired by the new landscape and unique clarity of light and I now work in a variety of mediums.

I have co-owned and operated a local gallery/framing business and my work has been featured in local exhibitions, including a successful solo post-quake exhibition of my works, entitled – ‘Through the Rose Window’ – A positive perspective. I have sold a series of my watercolour prints throughout NZ and have won local art prizes. I have run art workshops and now tutor art for all ages from my home based, purpose built studio in Christchurch.

I am also a singer/songwriter and poet. I released my debut album ‘Interstellar Refugee’ in 2022.
