I simply love to paint. I use all mediums! I use oils for my landscapes and love to add charcoal and oil sticks for texture. I work on the water in Lyttelton so many of my paintings are of cute fishing boats, sailing boats and dinghies. I find them all beautiful and am fascinated by their shapes.
I paint still lifes of flowers when I am in need of a meditative practice. These paintings are bright and fun, and I love the freedom that they offer. I have a strong practice of sketching and always carry a notebook and watercolors to capture the landscape. I believe this helps train my eye and these sketches often work their way into my paintings.
I am originally from England and have a diploma from “The London College of Printing” and a degree in Dance and Drama. I returned to a painting practice after leaving my teaching career.
