Livia is a full-time artist based in Christchurch, New Zealand. She has been a professional artist and art tutor since 2000. Her artistic journey was inspired by her uncle, a professional artist and tutor, igniting a passion for art that has flourished from an early age.
Livia’s artistic endeavours are centred in her own studio in Christchurch, where she conducts lessons, workshops and creates both her unique artworks and online courses.
Her work is deeply influenced by nature, particularly garden landscapes and local scenes, with a special focus on flower gardens and New Zealand scenery. Regular visits to the Christchurch Botanical Gardens serve as a source of inspiration, fuelling her ongoing series of textured oil paintings created with a palette knife.
Renowned for her painterly style, Livia’s artworks are appreciated by many and can be found in private and corporate collections around the world. Her unique teaching methods have made her a popular figure in the New Zealand art community. She has also received numerous awards and has been featured in magazines, nationwide calendars and TV programmes.
In recent years, Livia has expanded her reach through online courses available on her website and she has gained popularity as an art instructor. Her YouTube channel features videos and tutorials, where she shares her painting techniques, colour mixing expertise, and valuable tips to enhance painting skills. Livia’s works are currently represented by Art Box Gallery and Windsor Gallery in Christchurch and The Captain’s Quarter Gallery in Akaroa.
