Marty comes from a small country town and never had the opportunity to study art at school. From a young age he loved to draw and would draw on anything he could get his hands on.
A few years ago he had an epiphany and decided he would rather say “I’m glad I did” than “I wish I had” so he gave drawing and painting a go. Over time, with the help of YouTube, the advice of his fellow artists and a lot of perseverance, he honed his skills.
He uses oils, acrylics, graphite and coloured pencils in his works. He tries to vary the subjects of his artworks but enjoys the challenge of portraits. He finds it gratifying to create something that someone else likes.
