Nigel was born in Scotland, raised in rural Canterbury and learnt his trade (timber framing) in the Muskoka area of Canada.
While he mostly uses steel and wood to study suggestive forms and cheeky function, he has also dabbled in fibre, horn, antler and other natural materials.
Nigel mostly works to commissioned pieces and themes for gallery shows.
His workshop is a converted shearing shed nestled across the Garry River at the base of Mt. Thomas.
