Richard Bullett always wanted to paint and he spent his last years of school hiding in the art room, not attending other classes and generally painting in oils and reading books about art history. On leaving school he applied for a foundation course but was told you’d never make money from Art.
At the same time, he visited a number of galleries and museums in Europe and on viewing many of the masterpieces both of the past and of the modern day he made a decision…… A four year Higher National Diploma in Three Dimensional Design at the Berkshire College of Art and Design England.
After completing the four years he made a career in commercial interior design in London, Sydney, Fiji and both islands of New Zealand. Later in his career he moved into project management in commercial construction. During this time a family and life, kept him busy for the last thirty years, now he has time to work on the Art.
Starting to paint again has been a challenge and an immense excitement with the endless possibilities of subject matter and style. This has culminated in some truly experimental work abstract and also realism positioning him with options to extend and expand into the future.
