Linda Burns is a Ceramic Artist with over 20 years experience working with clay. Originally from South Africa and now living in New Zealand, Linda specialises in wheel work, hand building and Slip Casting.
Linda is an experienced pottery teacher, running term classes and workshops from her home studio in Christchurch. She draws her inspiration from the natural world we live in, drawing on textural influences and colours from nature. Linda enjoys enhancing the natural surface of the clay body and activating it using a variety of textures, carving and incising methods including the use of oxides and slips to create her sculptural forms. She currently has two ranges of work: Slipcast functional ware and wheel thrown and handbuilt garden themed pottery.
