29 July – 17 August
TAFAN’s annual exhibition features work from most of the textile groups in Christchurch. The growing popularity of textile and fibre art, particularly among young people, is reflected in the wide range of styles and themes, and for the first time the exhibition features work from its junior under 16 section. During the exhibition there will be demonstrations of Eastern cut pile weaving, tapestry weaving, wet and needle felting, and rigid heddle weaving. There will also be $2 workshops for the public running, including Dorset buttons, bead weaving, tape lace flower brooches, Suffolk puffs, Dresden plate patchwork and candlewick embroidery.
For enquiries about workshops please contact Barbara on 021 027 18941.
